Of course you can record any part of any concerts.
It may depend on the venue he plays in, but the Bon Jovi concert I went to in 2008 allowed cameras.
Allstar's set is usually around an hour long. But if you include the opening acts, the time it takes to set up the stage and going to the meet and greet afterward, the concert can take like 4 hours.
I was told that I was unable to bring my camera that had a removable lens to a concert at Darien Lake. Their explanation was that I could take professional pictures with it.
Most of Avenged Sevenfold's concerts, yes, you can brings cameras. However, if you are uncertain whether or not the concert you're going to allows cameras, just call the venue and ask. Better safe than sorry.

depends on the night and the venue. one venue may, another may not. for one concert he himself asked for no cameras.
How funny...I was just looking for an answer to the same question. I just found that if you want to bring in a camera you will have to sneak it in. I have to recommend though that if you do so bring in a portable one. Good Luck!! and have fun...I know we will
