Carpet tiles are generally low-pile synthetic fibers fix to an adhesive backing. They provide very little cushioning as they are fixed directly to the floor or subfloor without the benefit of carpet pad. They are nearly impossible to clean as most carpet cleaning methods will lift the adhesive and cause each square to curl at the corners and eventually come loose. Carpet squares are not durable or practice and, for the most part, are a quick, cosmetic fix.
