There are some forms of caterpillars that are fur although their skin has different textures to it for example some have soft smooth skin some have rough hard skin it really varies on the type of catapillar.
It is a good idea to take some caterpillars and raise them to be adult butterflies. Especially if it is a monarch caterpillar. But make sure you identify the caterpillar before you do.
