Cats I think are usually more independent; but of course it depends on the cat... you know... so cats are probably easier to look after. I’ve had a cat, it’s easy to look after... I don’t have Guinea pigs but I have done research. If you want a loyal, interactive helpful companion, I do recommend a dog; though not as first pet... if you want a dog, be prepared to open your wallets as they can be pretty expensive and take A LOT of commitment so think before you get one, whether your lifestyle will be suited to a dog etc... you should go to a shelter because there are too many unwanted older dogs. Ok I’m going way off the subject so I won’t keep you any longer :) :) ;)
i have 6 guinea pigs ,so i would definitely prefer guinea pigs to cats.

actually, guinea pigs ears are a lot better than human ears, so don't expose them to noises to loud. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- also black guinea pigs have far better hearing than guinea pigs of another color (7 guinea pigs) and most guinea pig dont like high pitch or fast tempo noise...
Most cats are okay to have around your guinea pigs. Believe me, I have three cats and three guinea pigs. The guinea pigs are only mildly interested and the cats are actually unnerved by them! Hope this helps! Also, I have a homemade cage with no top and sometimes the cats will sleep IN the cage, the guinea pigs will just ignore them.
Probably Gerbils, because they are indoor animals, and guinea pigs are fragile
