Christians realize that if we have ever sinned at all ( ever lied, ever been jealous, ever taken the Lord's name in vain, etc...) that we fall short of the glory of God. All of us fall short and can't get into heaven on our own merit if we have sinned-so we need salvation from God through Jesus Christ and to be set free from sin by Jesus.
