They eat everything! They're pretty much south American raccoons...they arent picky. I feed mine dog food, boiled eggs, and fruit. He's a big fan of crickets too.
Honestly, I believe one would. I use to have a Female coati that was a sweetheart with humans and dogs, but not so much with cats....THEN one night when she was outside (I was walking her) one of my cats came to visit me, and she was on the cat in a blink of an eye and I got to them and pulled her of of the cat but it was too late. She bit right through the cats neck. So that was my lesson! To this day, I am very weary of all my exotics around me and especially around other animals.

The correct term is coati, not coatimundi. Coatimundi is the Native American term for the solitary male animal. Coatis are from the animal kingdom.

The coatimundi live in the tropical rainforests of South America and in parts of Mexico. The species named the ring-tailed coatimundi and mountain coati are found in many countries of South America. While the species named the white-nosed coati and Cozumel Island coati live in Mexico. The Coatimundi belongs to the raccoon family.

No. Arizona has very strict and unfair exotic animal laws. *Making it illegal to own a coatimundi is not unfair in the least.
