No, dogs shouldn't eat chocolate at all.

white chocolate is not really chocolate. It doesn't have real cocoa in it, just cocoa milk. Cocoa contains theobromine, which is poisonous to dogs, but cocoa milk doesn't contain it. But, dogs still shouldn't eat really sugary foods like white "chocolate."

You should know that you shouldn't ever give a dog, or any animal for that matter, chocolate. I don't know what could happen but I know I wouldn't give it to my dog!

It seems that white chocolate would be safer since it is the theobromine that is bad for a dog, and the darker the chocolate, the more theobromine it has. However, white chocolate is mostly cocoa butter and sugar. It might have a small amount of theobromine in it, and it is quite fattening. Sometimes, white chocolate doesn't even contain cocoa butter, but is essentially confectioner's glaze (fat/grease/margarine and sugar).

The cocoa in chocolate contains a compound called theobromine, which humans can easily metabolise, but dogs can't, and it's toxic to them.

White chocolate however does not contain cocoa, only cocoa milk. It does not have any theobromine in, and while it's still unhealthy to feed a dog things with a high sugar content, it is not toxic to them.

No, preferably dogs should not have stuff with sugar in it because dogs are diabetic.

Diabetic? No, its better if you avoid giving them white chocolate because like all chocolates it is toxic but the level of toxin is very low so unless your dog gets into your stash of several ten pound bricks of chocolate, you should be fine. Just don't intentionally feed a dog it.

White chocolate has very little cocoa, which is what holds the stuff that's poisonous to dogs.

My guess is that the fat and the sugar would give the dog a regular stomach upset before the stuff is anywhere near being dangerous b/c of being chocolate.

Possibly, but the main component in chocolate that is poisonous to dogs occurs in the darker chocolates.

Are all animals allergic to chocolate?

Dogs are not allergic to chocolate, but some dogs cannot metabolize it and it can kill them. Just to be safe, NO dog should ever be given chocolate. Some dogs find some and eat it and live, but you never know if your dog might be one that dies from it.Well, they arent allergic to chocolate, chocolate is like a poison to them. if you want to feed your dog chocolate because you are eating some and he looks like he wants some its because he THINKS its a treat but its not. so dont feed it to him/her.
