Dogs are very loyal and good pals when you need them, like if you are depressed. They will guard your house if they are outside dogs and will usually keep strangers away. They are excellent companions and are generally very sociable creatures.

∙ 13y agoyes! dogs can make a lonely family cheerful and busy. each breed has a different personality. a lab is good for a large athletic family that can be responsible for their pet. i suggest getting a small dog for your first dog. i have had a Shih Zue (a little malteese like dog) sinse i was very young. she is so sweet and she can do tricks. she does keep you busy, but not as much a lab would. you could also get a slower dog like a bulldog. just remember that the breed fits your personality. as a conclusion, dogs make super pets and great friends. just prepare yourself, do research, and be responsible.

∙ 13y agoDogs are very good companions as long as you treat them right and love them back they will love you forever. But you should look for a dog that would fit your lifestyle. If you live in an apartment don't buy a great dane. Research on different breeds before buying.
