In some cases Dominicans are darker than the average hispanic/Latino. Hispanics/latinos are of European, African, and Indian decent (sometimes Asian decent as well). Most people believe many Dominicans are darker because there general area on the planet. Some believe Dominicans just have more African decent than others. Also Haiti is occipied by mostly blacks, Dominican Republic is right next to them, making it very possible for Dominicans to have a lot of Black/African ancestry.
The major subgroups of Hispanic Americans include Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, Salvadorans, Dominicans, and Guatemalans. Each subgroup has distinct cultural, historical, and linguistic characteristics influenced by their countries of origin. I honestly think Salvadoreans and Dominicans do get along. The are many Salvadorians and Dominicans at my school and they get along perfectly... :D
