Define "suppressor." If it any way silences or muffles the report of the weapon when it fires, it is unlawful to own one without a permit. It is a FEDERAL felony under the National Firearms Act to even have one in your possession without a proper permit. You can purchase one using a Form 4 or get permission to make one with a Form 1. Once you pay the $200 transfer fee and get approved, you can have them in your possession.
Yes, silencers are legal in Florida, The National Firearms Act (not the federal firearms act) restricts transfer, ownership, and use, but does not prohibit it. I own silencers legally in Florida as do thousands of other Florida Residents. For more information on ownership of silencers in Florida see the below link which contains information on the legal ownership and use of Silencers, Short Barreled Riffles and Shotguns as well as pre 1986 Machine Guns.
Yes
Yes is is legal to carry a firearm in Florida state parks. This was clarified by the State Attorney General in 2009 and is consistent with Florida Statutes 790.06, 790.25 and 790.33.
That you were in possession (see legal definition of this as it can be more than in your hand!) of a firearm (check what constitutes a "firearm" in Florida, it can vary) And you are a convicted fellon! No need to explain the latter!
No. Silencers are against federal law, so no state law can over ride it. ------ Actually, that is incorrect. Suppressors (silencers) are quite legal in the US. Federal law restricts them, but does not prohibit them. The federal requirements are not difficult to meet. Checking PA state law it appears that suppressors are also quite legal in that state so long as you comply with the federal requirements.
Definately.
In MOST of the US, silencers (correct term is suppressor) are legal. However, under Federal law, a suppressor must be registered with the BATFE as a Class III firearm, and a $200 tax paid on the transfer of ownership. Some states may not permit.
The answer is yes. A sound supressor is legal to own in the State of Connecticut as long as it is registered with the ATF as it is an NFA regulated item. All it takes is an application and $200 for the transfer.
STATE law does not forbid it- but it MUST be registered, both with the Federal BATFE, and the state.
Not in Flordia, nor in any other state.
If they have a license to do so, yes.
its when you have a gun or any weapon that fires bullets.
Laws vary by state. If unsure about a particular state, your safest bet is to keep the firearm unloaded and secure in the trunk of your vehicle. So long as the firearm is legal both at the point of origin of the trip and the destination, you're protected under the Firearm Owner's Protection Act, for example, if you drive through an AWB state with an AR-15 and high cap mags, so long as the firearm is transported in the legal manner prescribed by that state.
