It is obviously nonliving because fires can't just come alive there has to be something that can make a fire happen.

By the above analysis, people are nonliving as well. I think fires are nonliving because they do not reproduce genetically. And unlike any living things they cancome about spontaneously, where there is no fire that kindles them. All they need is the right kind of material, oxygen and a high enough heat.
