Excessive water in our water levels due to too much rainfall for instance can cause the water level in the reservoir to rise. Some floods can be classified under natural cause. However we also get some floods due to man-made reasons.

There are at least three ways to look at that: 1) floods are entirely natural. The amount of rain an area gets can always vary. Sometimes it rains a lot in one go. Then you get flooding. 2) the water might be naturally occurring, but what we've done to our surroundings isn't. Paved surfaces means less water can be absorbed and more will run off. With the "good" sites already occupied, we've begun building closer to water. Makes a small flood a big deal. 3) it is quite accepted that human activities - release of greenhouse gasses - has begun to influence weather patterns. If we accept THAT, then we might even be seen as responsible for heavy rains coming in new places, and more often.
