Fossil fuels were formed in the Carboniferous period. This was a time when the first trees had evolved but not fungus to dispose of the trees once they died. Trees did decay with the help of bacteria, but only very slowly. This meant that there were lots of dead trees around creating the ideal starting conditions for fossil fuels to be formed. For the most part Fossil fuels are not able to be formed today because fungi eat the dead trees and plants before they get a chance to be buried in the ground and crushed for millions of years to form fossil fuels. This may not however be correct for all situations. For example a volcanic eruption may buy a forest in ash. Fungi wouldn't be able to get to the dead trees then....
Why yes, the ancient dragon Xerxes was discovered outside of London England in 2 billion year old sod. As well as the ancient bird Articuno was found in the Snowy mountains of Alaska in 6 billion year old frozen soil.
Yes, fossils are still being formed by fish, animals, humans, plants, traces, etc. But, you won't be able to find these fossils because it takes a few thousand years for fossils to completely finish fossilizing.🐶,🐱,🐭,🐹,🐰,🦊,🦝,🐻,🐼,🦘,🦡,🐨,🐯,🦁,🐮,🐷,🐵,🐔,🐧,🐦,🐤,🐣,🐥,🦆,🦢,🦅,🦉,🦚,🦜,🦇,🐺,🐗,🐴,🦄,🐝,🐛,🦋,🐞,🐜,🦗,🕷,🕸,🦂,🦟,🐢,🐍,🦎,🦖 ,🦕,🐙,🦑,🦐,🦀,🐡,🐠,🐟,🐬,🐳,🐋,🦈,🐅,🐆,🦓,🦍,🐘,🦏,🐪,🐫,🦙,🦒,🐃,🐄,🐎,🐖,🐏,🐑,🐐,🦌,🐕,🐩,🐈,🐓,🦃,🐇,🐁,🐀🐿,🦔,🐾,👧,
yes they are because many animals are being extinct as we speak i hope this is helpful thank you
Yes fossils are still being formed from bugs and other animals
on Earth, yes. Rocks will form on Earth until the Earth no longer exists

New reserves of oil are being discovered all the time.
Trilobites: The Index Fossil There are many thousands of known species of trilobite fossils found worldwide. Trilobites are considered to be good index fossils because they evolved so rapidly, and this allows geologists the ability to date the rocks in which the trilobites are found. The discovery of trilobites is second only to the discovery of dinosaurs, and new species of trilobites are still being discovered today.

No, they are not. It has been 8 years since any new elements on the periodic table were synthezided or discovered. Th last element discovered was ununoctium, atomic number 118.
As with all exploratory science, the answer to the oldest fossil changes with time, as new discoveries and evaluation techniques are made. The Gunflint Chert along the northern shore of Lake Superior, produces definite fossils, and these date to about 2.0 Ga ago (Ga = 10^9 years). Other sites also lay claim, and of course the determination of these very early fossils is difficult, if not actually uncertain. A site in Western Australia at Warrawoona, also produces probable early fossils from about 3.4Ga ago. Sites in Canada and India also show promise of very early life forms. Amazingly enough one of these early organisms, a blue-green algae helps form Stromatolites, and a famous site where they may still be seen growing, is at Shark Bay in NW Australia. [That is not to suggest that the individuals from long ago are still living.] And of course, Antarctica still largely remains to be discovered.
The Baiji or Chinese River Dolphin in 2006 - a great tragedy.
the question should be what aren't interesting about fossils because without fossils we wouldn't have discovered new species of fish, birds, bugs and we wouldn't know about dinosaurs!!
No, and as new ones are still being discovered neither can anyone else.
Discovered -29 new kangaroo species -dinosaur fossils in the southern coast of Victoria in 1980 -Cretaceous mammal fossils in Australia in 1985
In the year 1824 William Buckland (a geologist) announced his discovery of fossil remains on a new animal.
New reserves of oil are being discovered all the time.
That's hard to say because new satellites are still being discovered and naturally they are usually the smallest ones.
The mastodons, extinct for over 12,000 years, inhabited the continent of North America, with the first remains being discovered in the village of Claverack, New York in the year 1705. There has been comparisons to fossils found in Africa and Asia, however those fossils have not been named.
The most recent fossil found in New York was the Eurypterus remipes, the sea scorpion, which lived during the Silurian Period.
New reserves of oil are being discovered all the time.
It's difficult to be sure of the exact number as new species are still being discovered, but there are about 3000 species of snakes in the world.
