my research to date, including asking Bank of America and Morgan Chase Bank is that it is worthless. I am lucky in that I am stuck with only 3,000 mille francs.

Loads of countries use "franc" as a unit of currency. You'll need to be more precise. If you mean French Francs, then they are worthless as France changed over to the Euro in 2002.

300 French francs (now phased out) would be worth 45.73 euros (1 euro = 6.55957 francs)
Alas, 5 francs is now no money at all. When France went over to the Euro, the new euro was worth about 7 francs.
No, you can only use the euro now, les francs have no value anymore.
512 million francs are worth 78 054 000 euros (fixed exchange rate for 1 euro= 6.55957 francs)
no, only dumb peeople do that
C'est ... francs, or Ça fait ... francs, means "It's ... francs."Franc was the old monetary unit for France, but now, France uses euro, so you'd probably replace the word "francs" with "euros."

Nothing, absolutely nothing. When I was a boy, just after the war, 1000 francs was 2 dollars; when the Euro came in, 10 francs was 2 dollars. Now, francs no longer exist as currency.
