Yes. A guinea pig is less territorial than a hamster. Never put a hamster with a guinea pig as surprisingly the hamster will kill the guinea pig as they will not share unless they are breeding.
oh yes guinea pigs and hamsters are quite different.
first guinea pigs have hair instead of fur and hamsters have fur.
also hamsters can spin on wheels and in balls but guinea pigs can't
because it would crush their spines. also, guinea pigs grow much, much
bigger than hamsters, and guinea pigs sleep during the night, which hamsters
don't. And since guinea pigs are much bigger than hamsters, they are more
cuddly. And since I have had 3 of my own and I have for quite a while,
I know that when the pure low and long, that means you are rubbing
in their favorite spot and they like the noises around them and etc.
But when their pure is high and short, that means their scared of
a sound or are not in their best mood ever, and hamsters (i have
gone through 8), simply make an adorable little sqeaking sound
all night long and are not the most social to humans while guinea pigs
are shy at first but then can't wait to curl up on top of you.
Now Don't know if hamsters can or not, but guinea pigs whistle
when they are very, very, very, happy. So if you had a choice to
get a hamster or a guinea pig, I highly recommend
a guinea pig because if you are one to always crave a good
night's sleep, hamsters will keep you up all night, while guinea pigs
sleep the equal amount of sleep at night as humans
No,NEVER,EVER give a guinea pig hamster food.Hamster food contains nuts, which are fine for the hamster but will almost certainly choke your guinea pig. Also hamster food contains corn which is way too fattening for guinea pigs. And lastly a guinea pig needs a lot of vitamin C which guinea pig food has plenty of while hamster food doesn't have nearly enough, plus hamster food has too much protein for guinea pigs.
No it isn't ok. Guinea PIg food is made for Guinea Pigs. Your Cavy will get sick if they do eat hamser food.
A guinea pig would likely live longer.
Guinea pigs and hamsters are just about the same animal, so they die at about the same time.
If the cage is too small take it back and get a new one! Never get anything hamster for a guinea pig. If you have a small cage then that means you got a hamster cage.
