Guinea pigs are smarter than hamsters in responding to us.They even respond when hearing our footsteps or when opening fridges. But,hamsters are more intelligent in doing tricks than Guinea pigs.
It depends in which ways you mean what areas :)
Actually,no hamsters know more than other rodents, and guinea pigs are kinda like cows...
its kinda up to you everybody has different ideas hamster is the classic pet but a guinea pig is easier to look after have a look in the pet store make up your own mind
i think a guinea pig's hearing is better than a hamster's because i tried to sneak up to my guinea pig but when i saw my guinea pig it was staring straight at me like it knew i was there already. i once owned a hamster and they did not notice me very often as much as guinea pigs. ;D
DEFINETLYhamsters stink i have a guinea pig now and i had a hamster to. guinea pigs you can actually play with them and hamsters just sit in their cage already
NO! please do not attempt to put them together. The guinea pig will more than likely try to kill/eat the hamster.
No guineau pigs are much larger than hamsters, and have different habits. For example, hamsters are nocturnel and guineau pigs are not. No, they are different.
To buy initially, yes. Long term depends on if you buy your hamster fun exciting cages and toys. They can get pretty expensive. Guinea pigs don't need fancy stuff.
Hamsters ar smaller harder to handle thay have a tiny tail sticking out of their bum they have sharper and smaller teeth and there are not as many types of them as guinea pigs Guinea pigs tails dont stick out they do have one but it is hidden when they bight it doesnt hurt. And they are allot more friendlier
A hamster is much more faster than guinea pigs. They are nocturnal, that means they are active at night. Guinea pigs are a little more "laid back and relaxed". But it really depends on what breed. Like, abbysinian guinea pigs are faster than your average American shorthair. Did you know, that hamsters can run in their little wheels up to 8miles at night! Hope this helped!
It can. Guinea pigs have differentnutritionalneeds than hamsters. Guinea pigs need a diet high in vitamin C. Also guinea pigs can choke on nuts and seeds. Best to stick with guinea pig food for guinea pigs. Try to avoid food with seeds andkernelseven if it isadvertisedfor guinea pigs as it is best to stick with pellets. Guinea pigs have a differentdigestivesystem opposed to hamsters. Be sure to have hay available for guinea pigs for them to graze when they want. Timothy hay is the main part of their diet.AlfalfaHay is best left to baby guinea pigs as it has highcalcium. Orchard hay is well liked among guinea pigs.
Depends on what. They certanly aren't good at the slopes as they don't know how to get up them!
I know the answser to this. Hamsters are way better than Gunnie pigs. I know this because I had a Very nice American ginnie pig and a Very nice American Hampster. This is the difference hamster are way cuter first of all second of all their smaller wich make them cuter for you to hold. Third of all just get a hamster their WAY nicer than ginnie pigs and im just not talking about some ginnie pigs are mean i mean ALL of them. Fourth of all im getting a hamster and naming it hammypoo. LOL!!!Also something to consider, is the fact that Hamsters (being smaller) are much more fragile than guinea pigs. It's also a fact that the maximum life span for hamsters is 3 years, whereas Guinea Pigs can live to up to 13 years.
Guinea pigs is a lot bigger than hamsters. A hamster is about the length of one baseball while an adult guinea pig is about the size of three baseballs. In fact, if you place food in front of a grown guinea pig, it can stretch itself to the length of a foot with ease. A hamster wouldn't stretch to that length, not even when forced.
