Hair flat irons should not be used everyday because it will cause a lot of damage to your hair. In the long run it can also cause you to lose hair faster because of all the heat damage it is taking.

Yes, it is probably safe to assume so. What makes chi flat irons of such high quality is the fact that they are made out of ceramic, not just metal, which is less damaging and more efficient. If the curling iron is also made out of ceramic then you are in business. Also, if you have course hair, be sure you get one that has a very high temperature setting, at least to 400 degrees.
