Many hallucinogens do posses medicinal value. They can be traced back to ancient times, used in rituals to heal, and to help discover spirituality. Ayahuasca being one that can be used to help people who battle depression and thoughts of suicide. People with these issues have taken ayahuasca and come out with a completely different view on the world. They learn to appreciate the things that so many take for granted. It brings you back to simple living in lamens terms. Ayahuasca also allows you to see who you truely are. Ibogaine is another drug with hallucinogenic proporties, that can cure opiod withdrawls yet is illegal and scheduled as a class 1 narcotic. (meaning it has no medicinal value) in my opinion if it can completely stop opiod withdrawls it does indeed have medicinal values and is illegal becuase of the pharmacutical companys.
