No, not really. once you get a new hamster place it into its cage and leave them alone for up 48 hours. This gives them time to settle down and get used to their new surroundings. Then you may attempt to handle them. You should give your hamster strokes every day, several times a day to get it used to your hands and scent. They will eventually get use to being handled.
