I wouldn't reccommmend a heating pad for a hermit crab, but would you like to know what does keep them warm and cozy? Just put their cage on top of the drying machine! I do it for my crab, and he has lived for a very long time. The heat rises into their habitat creating a climate very similar to their habitat in the wild.
While hermit crabs do need heat, a heat rock is not a very good solution. Hermit Crabs can and will overheat themselves on a heat rock. A heat rock can get up to 100+ degrees, which is WAY to hot for a hermit crab. A better solution is to use an under tank heater pad, and mount it on the side of the tank. 2 small pads covering a corner is even better. You should make sure and have a cool side and warm side for your hermit crabs. Maintain about 80 degrees f on the warm side, and about 70 degrees f on the cool side and your hermit crab should be just fine. Keep the humidity at above 75% as well.
Hermit crabs do need a night and day cycle to their lives to remain healthy. If one cannot provide a natural light during the day, one should invest in a light fixture. As for the night cycle one is not needed, but if one needs the extra warmth in the crabitat, one would use a moon glow bulb with a rare phosphorus coating to simulate the moon.
Sunbeam heating pads are made in China. They are usually of good quality and they can be obtained easily from stores such as Walmart and online from Amazon.
Heating pads are a great way to relieve aches and pains in your body. There are also mattress heating pads to keep you warm, and comfy throughout your sleep!
Affordable electric heating pads are widely available at retail locations and internet websites. Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Target, and Amazon are just a handful of many companies that stock this item.
The cause is glazed brake pads. The brake pad surface can become hard from over heating. An over heating condition can be introduced by frequent hard braking or long braking down steep hills. The fix is to remove the pads and sand off the glazed pad surface with a medium grit sand paper on a flat surface. Rotation of the pads (inner to outer rotor) is recommended if possible.
Ice packs or heating pads
Yes, if they are turned on too hot.
I think so. :(
If pads are using AC, yes you can get some electromagnetic field because of it.

People with circulatory problems should not use heating pads or hot water bottles on their feet, as even moderate heat can damage the skin if circulation is impaired.
