Usually the higher the thread count the better, softer and more expensive the sheets are. Material makes a big difference though, so make sure to feel the sheets if you can before you buy them.
go to Marshalls or TJ Max and get 400 count or higher. You will not have to iron them and they will be cheaper there!
I personally believe that cotton sheets are better than silk sheets because they are comfortable, less expensive and most importantly easier to clean!

The best place to buy styrene sheets is to look and compare the prices via the internet and maybe go browse around the shops as sometimes they are much cheaper.
