No there is no law that i am aware of. Although a lot of leos will tell u that without really knowing the law itself. Besides most people would use them for home defense or target shooting. Police are more conserned about people carrying them on thier person while concealing, since it has a more deadly penetrating effect then a regular bullet. But no1 can carry in md anyways.
Depends on where you are. They are illegal in New Jersey.
Possessing hollow tip bullets may result in criminal charges, such as illegal possession of ammunition or weapons. The severity of the sentence will depend on the specific laws and regulations in the jurisdiction where the offense occurred. It is important to follow all relevant laws and regulations regarding the possession of such ammunition.
Yes, it is legal. If you go to your local Dicks or Dunhams store they have hollow points for sale.... I actually went to get some today from Dicks. Their not as legit as the government hollow points which can go through bullet proof vests and bullet proof glass but they will still expand in your opponent and cause major damage. (don't bother trying to get the legit ones its almost impossible unless you work for the government)
In the US, the state of New Jersey has the most restrictive laws regarding hollow points, but they are still legal there. They are legal in all 50 states.
Every manufacturer has their own special designs, but generally there are jacketed hollow points and unjacketted hollow points.
No, not standard hollow points. Only ammunition designed or intended to explode or segment upon impact is illegal. Since standard hollow points are designed and intended to flatten, they don't match the prohibition. This is only my opinion, as per my reading of the specific law: Haw. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 134-8(a), found at Hawaii dot gov
