I was wondering the same thing. I think people's individual tastes are determined by the types of foods they grew up eating as a child and the types of experiences that they associate with those foods. If they threw a fit every time they were forced to eat broccoli for eleven years then when they grow up and realize broccoli is actually good for you they still probably won't enjoy broccoli. I personally love eggs benedict. But when i think about it it's probably my favorite food because my mother cooked it for me for my birthday one morning and i enjoyed it, but more importantly I remember that experience when i eat it. I know people who hate candy because growing up they only had candy around the house and it made them sick all the time. Now they associate nausea with that particular food.
