That depends entirely on what you want the dog for.

• Labradors are well suited to be trained as hunting dogs - especially as retrievers (hence their name as Labrador RETRIEVERS) although they are also often used for flushing game and even sometimes as "pointing" dogs (to find game and show the hunter where it is by "pointing")
• Labradors are also often used as assistance dogs for blind and autistic people.
• Labradors have a good sense of smell and can be used for tracking and detection
• Labradors have a reputation as a very even-tempered breed and an excellent family dog
• They are more prone to obesity than other dogs and like many pure-bred dogs are somewhat at risk for several genetic related problems such as hip and elbow problems
• They are not small dogs so, if not properly trained, they can be a problem when misbehaving based on their size - biting, destroying property, aggression, etc. Properly trained they are usually pretty even tempered and not aggressive.
