First we must specify if llamas and alpacas were laced in the first place. What exactly does laced mean? Lace means "a netlike fabric that is threaded" according to dictionary.com. So the suffix "-ed" means "forming the past tense of" so "laced", therefore, would mean past tense of a netlike fabric, possibly meaning that the lace was there before, but not now. This would make sense, since in order for something to be "relaced" it would have had the previous lace to be removed. So are llamas and alpacas laced? It appears that maybe their shaggy fur would be considered as lace, as it is somewhat netlike and is definitely threaded. Therefore, we can safely say that llamas and alpacas are "laced". But are they "relaced"? If a llama or alpaca was laced, and then shaved for it's warm and soft fur, but then the fur grew back, that camelid would have been "relaced". So, technically, llamas and alpacas can be relaced.
