it depends on where your mouse is from - if its from a pet shop the mouse will not be tame and it takes a while to tame them. if this is the case spend lots of time near its cage speaking to it and then hold your hand in the cage for a while still talking to it. it takes a while but soon the mouse will become used to you - with my mouse its taken about a month but now he climbs into my hand whenver i hold it in the cage. oh and always treat them after a session doing this - they associate you with treats and so become less timid

if its from a breeder then it should have been handled from a very early age - so it might just be a timid mouse or it needs time to adjust to the change of scene. id try the same tactic as above - just wait till the mouse gets to know you and soon it should be fine.
