Are some nonmetals magnetic?

No, nonmetals are typically not magnetic because they do not have unpaired electrons in their outer shells, which are necessary for exhibiting magnetic properties. Materials must have unpaired electrons to create a magnetic field.

What are charaterisitics of nonmetals?

there are many charaterisitics of nonmetals, a few of them are they do not conduct electricty. and they are not magnetic. mosts of nonmetals do not conduct heat, som are good insilaters. again as i said before, there are many charaterisitics you can look up a bunch more but i named a few.

Are all nonmetals nonmagnetic?

No. All non-metals are not non-magnetic. just like hydrogen which is a non-metal but it is a diamagnetic... another example of oxygen, which is a non-metal but it is paramagnetic... and there are alot of non-metals which are magnetic also..

Why does a magnet have to be made out of metal?

Other elements - nonmetals - cannot maintain a dense and ordered enough structure that is needed for a net magnetic field to be generated.

Are all metals magnetic and non metals are non magnetic?

Not all metals are magnetic; while some metals like iron, nickel, and cobalt are magnetic, others like aluminum and copper are not. Similarly, some nonmetals like oxygen and hydrogen are diamagnetic (very weakly repelled by magnetic fields), while others like carbon and sulfur are diamagnetic as well. Therefore, the magnetic properties of an element do not depend solely on whether it is a metal or nonmetal.

What are similarities and differences between the magnetic and electric charge interaction?

Both magnetic and electric charges interact with each other through attraction or repulsion. However, electric charges are typically carried by protons and electrons, while magnetic charges (or poles) are found in magnetic materials like magnets. Additionally, while electric charges produce electric fields that exert forces on other charges, magnetic charges produce magnetic fields that affect moving charges.
