This nation, yes.
India conducted its first nuclear weapons test, codenamed "Smiling Buddha," on May 18, 1974. This made India the first country outside of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council to possess nuclear weapons.
No, but it would be nice to see them have nuclear weapons, considering that Pakistan and India are nuclear nations.
There were tests of nuclear weapons but no other nuclear weapons were dropped on other nations as an act of war. Hiroshima and Nagasaki are the only uses of atomic weapons on other nations.
India is already a nuclear power, and they have nuclear weapons on hand. They have already made the decision to "encourage" nuclear weapons, and presumably for increasing their own security.
Yes hence the word NUCLEAR WEAPONS
no
If the majority of the members of the United Nations or the majority of nations that sit on the UN's Security Council believe that another nation acquiring nuclear weapons is a serious threat to world peace, economic sanctions can be set against such a nation. The UN can also send in inspectors to determine if a nation is becoming a threat to world peace because of it building a nuclear weapons system. If all the members of the UN's Security Council vote to sanction trade or funds of a threatening nation, that sends a powerful message to the offending nation.
I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but it is a generally accepted fact that Israel has developed nuclear weapons. That concerns a lot of nations.
Any answer to this question would be pure opinion, but I sincerely believe that nations should not have the freedom to develop nuclear weapons. The more nations that have them, the more likely it becomes that they will be used.
To prevent the spread of nuclear weapons to other nations.
The UN tried to limit nuclear weapons in many ways. For example, the UN simply wanted all nations to disarm itself with all WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction), this includes Nuclear Weapons. Also when certain countries like Iran and Korea starts a nuclear program, the UN tries to make sure that none of it is used to make Nuclear Weapons.
