Best Answer

DNA is a polar molecule because it has a negatively (-) charged phosphate group attached to the 5' end of the molecule and a negatively charge hydroxl group (OH) attached to the 3' prime end of the molecule.

Thus, it is a POLAR molecule which allows it to interact in an aqueous environment.

Nucleic Acids are polar because they are highly soluble in water just like the DNA.

DNA holds the genetic informations that can be copied and passed down into generations because it is heredity.
