Omnivore is a secondary (2nd order) consumer. This is because primary consumer must only be plant eaters. Although omnivore consume plants, they also eat meat.
Here is the order of the food chain (hope it helps):
1) SUN (ultimate source of energy)
2) PRODUCERS (plants - autotrophs: can make their own food using photosynthesis)
3) PRIMARY/1ST ORDER CONSUMER (herbivours - only eat plants)
4) SECONDARY/2ND ORDER CONSUMER(carnivours/omnivores)
5) DECOMPOSERS (bacteria, worms, fungi etc breaks down dead organisms as food and return nutrients to soil)
the secondary consumer feeds on the primary consumer.
Secondary consumers are organisms that feed on primary consumers (herbivores) in a food chain. They are carnivores or omnivores that obtain their energy by eating other animals. Examples include snakes, birds of prey, and some fish.
All omnivores are primary and secondary consumers , eg man ,fox ,cockroach etc.
Primary consumers are herbivores that eat plants directly. Secondary consumers are carnivores that eat primary consumers. Tertiary consumers are carnivores that eat secondary consumers.
A secondary or tertiary consumer. Secondary - eats primary consumers (herbivores) and/or producers Tertiary - eats secondary and primary consumers (and possibly producers as well) Secondary and Tertiary consumers can be either carnivores or omnivores.
Humans are omnivores which makes them both primary and secondary consumers.
Omnivores are both primary and secondary consumers.
Carnivores (meat-eaters) and omnivores are secondary consumers because they eat primary consumers.
Well it depends on the environment. If it's a desert it's animals like bilby's and ant lions. Because they eat the bugs/insects/plants of the environment. (First consumers)
A human being is a Third level consumer. A human can eat a second and first level consumer as well. Actually, humans can be both.
the secondary consumer feeds on the primary consumer.
It depends on the ecosystem, but a general statement could be: secondary consumers consume the primary consumers, who consume the primary producers. If the secondary consumers are omnivores, they can also be a part of the second (primary consumer) and third (secondary consumer) trophic levels.
carnivoresSecondary consumers eat primary consumers. Primary consumers are herbivores (animals that eat plants). Therefore secondary consumers eat other animals and are sometimes called carnivores. (Secondary consumers could also be omnivores.)
Most humans are both primary and secondary consumers. They eat both plants and animals as omnivores.
Primary Consumer. They are at the bottom of the food chain.
A rabbit is a primary consumer - it eats producers. Secondary consumers eat herbivores or omnivores and consumers that eat other carnivores are tertiary consumers.
it's a tertiary consumer which are carnivores or meat eaters secondary consumers and omnivores or animals that eat both plants and other animals.
