I can say that they can be friendly if you give them a good first impression but they can be very unfriendly if you start out with their bad side. Usually, they are friendly and will lend a hand if you need. Unfortunately, just like every country's people, they are also those who you would rather avoid. If you are an outsider, not many people will react but if they do, it is usually friendly. As a Singaporean, I feel that most people are friendly although their faces do not show it. Somehow, they never smile even when I smile at them.
