Yes, it is a democratic society.
This is almost a "which came first, the chicken or the egg ?" question. Do societies bring about governments or do governments bring about societies. I would venture to say they are interrelated. They need and build from each other. Close examination will, usually, show that the two are related in such a way as for the society to influence the type of government that will evolve. Or, for the government to influence the evolution and development of a society. Trying to separating the two is unfair and fails to acknowledge and recognize their interrelatedness. kapm

If we question our expectations of society and expect more from our government the possibilities are endless. I feel that we are such a silent population nothing in comparison to what our parents and grandparents did during the civil rights movement of the 60s. We as a society need to demand more from our government and from each other. Until we question our surroundings, society and government there will be no dramatic change.

I am not sure what you mean by this question. Taiwan is regarded by China as a breakaway province, while Taiwan sees itself as an independent nation. If you are asking whether Taiwan can "win over" China-- to persuade China to accept Taiwan as an independent country, that is very unlikely, since the Chinese government is firmly insistent that Taiwan must rejoin China. At this point, China has not threatened Taiwan nor is there a possibility of a war, but both countries see themselves very differently, and I doubt that will change at any time in the near future.
They made it so china would have to give taiwan to japan
