No, they are not, in my opinion. I have had a plantar wart on the outer edge of my right foot for as long as I can remember, the only thing that bothers me is when it gets big every couple of months and I just dig it out with a scalpel or sterilized razor blade. I've tried the dermatologist, it just comes back, every time. Hope this helps.

Can you get a plantar wart on your finger?

Plantar warts are, by definition, warts on the bottom of your foot or toes. A wart appearing anywhere else on the body is not a plantar wart, even if it's caused by one of the strains of the human papillomavirus that's generally associated with plantar warts. (If you're asking if it's possible for the virus to spread from a plantar wart to other locations on the body: yes, that's possible. But it wouldn't be CALLED a plantar wart; if it appeared on the palm, for instance, it would be a palmar wart.)

What are plantar warts?

These warts are typically small, hard, granulated lumps on the skin, and color may appear as white, pink, brown, gray or flesh colored. They can also feel thick, spongy, and scaly. There are actually three types of plantar warts: (a) single or isolated wart, (b) one wart, often called the mother, surrounded by a number of smaller warts, and (c) cluster of many warts grouped together. There are various ways how plantar warts can be treated. One can use natural remedies like garlic oil, lemon balm, and oregano oil, and apply them as topical treatment. There are also various otc medications for warts like Wartanol that can help eliminate warts from the roots. For severe cases of plantar warts, more aggressive treatments might be necessary. This include freezing, minor surgery, or laser treatment.
