About the asthenosphere?

The asthenosphere has the ability to slow down seismic waves. Is not made up of earths plates that would be the lithosphere.

Tectonic plates may be made of continental crust, oceanic crust, or both.

The earths crust is made of rock sections called?

Continental plates.

What layer of earth is made up of plates that move?

The earths crust

C There are two types of tectonic plates oceanic and continental what is the difference between these two types of plates?

The lithosphere displaces the asthenoshpere. Thick tectonic plates, such as those made of continental crust, displace more asthenosphere than do thin plates, such as those made of oceanic lithosphere. Plates beneath the earths crust are located where?

The Earth's crust is made of plates which float on the Earth's mantle. They are located on the entire planetary surface. Even oceans lie on top of plates.

The crust of the Earth is made of sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rock.

What is a rigid layer made up of the crust and the upper part of the earths mantle?

the Lithosphere or Lithospheric Plates

Where do volcanoes most commonly happen?

cracks in the plates which make up the crust. the earths crust is not connected. its made up of plates that moves and they are formed by plates pushing together then collapsing. they erupt when it gets a lot of friction from the plates pushing together
