It is illegal to eat platypus.
Only as pets or on zoos; these animals are from Australia.
No. This would be illegal, foolish and detrimental to the good of the platypus.
No. A platypus is not designed for circus tricks.
No. The platypus is completely wild, and can be neither domesticated nor trained.
No. This is completely untrue, and also impossible. It is illegal to have a platypus as a pet, and you would not be able to provide the conditions it needs. It would die very quickly as platypuses are highly sensitive to ecological changes. Platypuses are native Australian animals, and therefore protected by law. They are not permitted to be kept as pets in Australia or any other country, and this will not change.

Well it's because some people like having pets. Millions of people worldwide enjoy having pets around. If you're wondering about why they got a platypus instead of anything normal it's most likely because it's a cartoon. In cartoons they always try to have something strange to attract the attention of children. They've done a pretty good job. ;)
Platypuses neither eat corndogs, nor are they kept as pets. Therein lies your problem.
No. It is illegal to have a platypus as a pet. Platypuses are protected native animals, with very specialised needs, and are simply not permitted to be kept as pets. There are only a few zoos or wildlife sanctuaries with licences to keep them.
How about "Daffy"? or "Peking"? "Donald" works too, if you have no friends who would be offended.
