Yes, Samoyed's are in fact hypoallergenic. This makes them great pets for dog lovers with strong dog Allergies.

No, they are not! As a Samoyed breeder (we have Sammies in our life for 20 years) I have to say, that they are NOT hypoallergenic dogs. I have seen many people, who where looking for a Samoyed as their future dog, since they have allergies and have been informed that they are hypo allergic. But after 10 - 30 minutes contact with that breed they finally believed, that a Samoyed is not considered a hypoallergenic breed!

Samoyeds can be considered hypoallergenic because they do not have dander. Some people with dog allergies are actually allergic to dander, so a Samoyed would not bother these people. However every allergy-sufferer is affected differently by different dog breeds and even by individual dogs, so there is no definite guarantee that a Samoyed will be hypoallergenic to every person.
