NO, Precision brand fuel pumps are exactly the same as Carter brand and do not have the best reputation. AC Delco brand are more likely to be the actual OEM part from the OEM manufacturer, whereas Precision/Carter are more likely to be a cheap aftermarket part
http://www.fuelpumps.com/ would be a good place to start. They offer fuel for the certain make of your vehicle model. Fuel Pumps is the world's leader in performance and OEM replacement fuel pumps and accessories.
First make sure the fuse to the fuel pump is good then pull the fuel supply line to the carb and turn the key on and see if fuel pumps out (note: make sure you have a bucket the catch the fuel.) If fuel pumps out, the fuel pump is fine, if not than it may be bad.
fuse r good still dont work
Good till they go bad!
All major brands are good. Purolator, AC/Delco, etc
I could still be your fuel pump even if you just replaced it. The replacement fuel pumps are really cheap and really poor quality, but we call by them because an OEM one is $500-900, just for the part. I've installed brand new pumps from Carter, Bosch and some work for a week and some work for year and others worked for 5 mins. The only fairly good aftermarket pumps seem to be AC Delco. Anyway, have someone turn your ignition on while you listen near your gas tank, if you don't hear a clicking noise and pump priming then its still you pump. You will have to drop the tank again, take it back to where you got it from and exchange it. See if AC Delco makes one for your model, if its more expensive its because it will work. Somes times its even worthwhile going to the wreckers and finding a factory fuel pump of a vehicle with less kms, it will likely last longer than an aftermarket. Good luck. JohhnyB
it will depend on the year of the car mechanical fule pumps turn with the motor electric pumps should pump as soon as you turn the key to the on position just before the starter enguages
there are 2 fuel pumps on the car one at the tank and one in the engine compartment
yes if it is necessary put on a new one
Most vehicles with two fuel tanks have two fuel pumps. If the fuel gauge shows the reading in the front tank, the switch is most likely good, and the fuel pump is bad.
the fuel pumps good on a 1991 dodge van B250 but wont turn over is the relay the only thing needed to be check?
on the bottom of the car just below the hatch is.. on the very bottom of the car below the back THE FUEL pump in a 1984 300zx is inside the fuel tank. These factory fuel pumps are very good and almost indestructable.
