A protein skimmer is not necessary unless you have a heavy bio load. It is used mainly when people have a packed reef tank, a large predator fowlr tank, or if you have fish and coral that require next to perfect water quality.

It is recommended to have a skimmer however because it keeps your water quality better, your fish and coral happier, and it allows you to do less maintenance on the aquarium.

What is the nitrogenous material in an animal substance that is necessary for body building called?

The nitrogenous material in an animal substance that is necessary for body building is called protein. Protein is essential for growth, repair, and maintenance of body tissues and organs. It is made up of amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein.

How do frogs get protein?

Frogs get protein by consuming insects, small fish, and other small animals. Their diet consists mainly of animal matter, providing them with the necessary protein for growth and survival.

The largest organ in the body cavity?

The liver is the largest organ in the body cavity. It is responsible for various functions including detoxification, protein synthesis, and production of biochemicals necessary for digestion.

What is the different between freshwater fish food and saltwater fish food?

Not a whole lot. reading the labels and content you will find a little bit more protein in the SW food as opposed to the FW food. Fat content and Potash may vary as well. The SW foods tend to have more ocean type ingredients... krill, mysis shrimp... etc.

What is rumen degradable protein?

Rumen degradable protein (RDP) is feed protein that can be broken down by microbial enzymes in the rumen (neutral pH) where the resulting nitrogen, AA's or peptides are either utilized to meet microbial requirements or if unused, ammonia which is absorbed across the rumen wall and either recycled or excreted. Look up P. J. Van Soest "Nutritional Ecology of the Ruminant" in googlebooks for a more detailed description.

How are saltwater aquariums different to other types of aquariums?

There is no difference in the physical aquarium itself, only what you put in it. If you go to a pet store and buy a glass or acrylic aquarium, you can use it for salt or freshwater. You may use some different equipment in it based on whether it is fresh or saltwater. For instance protein skimmers are generally used on saltwater tanks only, you use different lighting for freshwater planted aquariums versus salt water coral reef aquariums, etc. Of course the fish or invertebrates are specific to the type of water you are using as well. YOu may see some aquariums advertised as reef or saltwater, but this is just because they are a kit that comes with lighting, filtration, etc. that is suitable for saltwater.

Does having a protein skimmer remove water from the aquarium so when you top up with water to get it back to normal volume im diluting the salt levels?

Protein skimmers to remove small amounts of water. They create bubbles and this becomes the skimmate. Also, some water remains in the skimmer when it is on. In general people do not have to adjust their water or salinity because of skimmers. It is important to match the size of the tank and the skimmer.

Does a 20 gallon Fish only saltwater tank require a protein skimmer and if so where can you find small enough?

In general it is harder to keep a small tank stable than a large one. It is possible to maintain a small saltwater tank without a protein skimmer, but it takes a lot more work and severely limits the amount of livestock (and feeding) possible. Look into Prizm skimmers. They work well on small tanks but are severely overrated on their capacity ( translate that to if they say good for 60 gallons figure only 20) eBay is a good place for these at a good price. Several other manufacturers also make small skimmers for small tanks. Look for "nano skimmer" on the popular aquarium supply websites. ("Nano" is the popular name used nowadays to refer to these small tanks.) Do your research on any brand you consider--lower cost in skimmers usually means "cheap" in both senses of the word. In addition to online sources, if there is a reef club in your city talk to members for their recommendations and possibly find a good, used skimmer.

How do you start a blow fish tank?

Blow fish (Puffer Fish) are tropical, brackish or saltwater fish. Usually found in the more salty parts of estuaries. In captivity they are regarded and treated as "Marine Fish". Setting up a marine tank is a very complicated business and involves the use of technical equipment like Protein Skimmers, Ozoneizers and the like. Maybe you should ask your question in the marine section.

What organelle is necessary for protein synthesis?

Ribosomes are the organelles necessary for protein synthesis in a cell. They are responsible for translating the genetic information from mRNA into proteins. Ribosomes can be found in the cytoplasm as well as on the endoplasmic reticulum.

Is protein good for animals?

It's necessary.

Since protein skimmers reduce ammonia building then beneficial bacteria would be reduced and thus would sudden removal of a protein skimmer result in ammonia spike?

As long as your tank is established and is full of live rock and sand, there should be no spike. You rely mostly on rock and sand for filtering. Skimmer adds aeration and removes gunk but that gunk would hopefully be broken down safely by your rock if it wasn't for the skimmer. Skimmers are great for aerating water and removing proteins, keep it in if you can.

Why are stop and start codons necessary for protein synthesis?

Stop and start codons are necessary for protein synthesis because they signal the beginning and end of protein production. The start codon initiates the process of translating genetic information into a protein, while the stop codon signals the end of protein synthesis, ensuring that the correct protein is made.

Which protein skimmer is the best for your 330 liter tank?

There are many to pick from. It honestly depends on what is in the tank, how heavy you feed etc. The most important thing is to not get one that is too big or too small for the tank. You want one that is rated about 1 and 1/2 to at most twice the volume of you tank. Also, many people like the new cone skimmers. They may make more bubbles and hence skim better. ( Or the bubbles are less likely to pop too early) There are many reviews of all the skimmers on saltwater forums such as Reef Central, Reef to Reef etc. Take some time and read up and find out which is best for you before you purchase one.
