Pyramids may appear four sided but they actually not. The reason they appear four sided in pictures and videos is because of the distance the shots were taken. On closer look, they have about eight sides.
Some people believe this multiple sides actually keep the pyramids for this long and also protects them from being affected by tectonic movements
