A rabbit that tilts backwards and forwards likely has neurological problems and should see the vet as soon as possible. It sounds like the rabbit has "head tilt." Head tilt (torticollis, a.k.a. wry neck) could be caused by a simple ear infection, but it could also be something much more serious, like a parasite, a stroke, a brain abscess, a head injury, or E-cuniculi. Certainly, rabbits can become terminally ill -- sometimes they do become terminally ill. Practically all illnesses are terminal if the rabbit doesn't receive treatment from a vet who is experienced and knowledge in rabbits. Even with vet care, some illnesses are terminal -- some forms of cancer, for instance; also, an illness called bloat. No, rabbits don't get spots when they're in heat. Rabbits don't go into heat at all: they're induced ovulators, which means they're always ready to mate.
