Is a reticulated python and a regular python the same?

Reticulated pythons are one type of python. They are the biggest pythons in the world.

Why is the name 'reticulated' python?

The name comes from the pattern - large splotches of one color with relatively thin lines of another color surrounding the splotches. This pattern is called reticulated, and the reticulated giraffe has its name for the same reason.

Can a burmese python and a reticulated python live in the same tank?

I wouldn't recommend it - the Reticulated python will eventually weigh more than twice that of the Burmese Python - and could theoretically crush it under the weight of the heavier snake.

What is the color of a woodpecker?

Depends on the species. Most woodpeckers have black, white and red as part of the color scheme, but many have other colors as well. Consult a field guide for specifics on woodpecker coloration.

Is the red cockade woodpecker endangered?

Red-Cockaded woodpeckers are endangered as a result of habitat loss, compounded by many other factors. They are dependent upon mature forests with standing dead trees, even more so than most other woodpeckers. Since mature forests have been cut for timber, converted to farmland, and managed as tree farms in much of the southeastern US, the birds cannot find enough nest sites or food sources. Mature forests are being harvested and are leaving the woodpeckers with limited or none home. The current threats include population fragmentation - the fact that the few remaining groups are isolated from other groups - and other factors. Oddly, two natural factors are listed as threats to the fragmented populations of Red-Cockaded woodpeckers. One is that the larger and more numerous pileated woodpeckers take over their nest holes, making the holes too large for the Red-Cockaded woodpeckers to use. The other is the southern pine beetle, which feeds on the same dead trees as other insects which the woodpecker eats, but the pine beetle infestations are so numerous that they damage the woodpeckers' nest holes. See http://www.iucnredlist.org/search/details.php/17258/all. Under "detailed documentation" is a list of specific threats to the species and conservation efforts.

Is there an outdoor woodpecker calling device?

Playing a recording of woody woodpeckers laugh can attract woodpeckers. Also, banging a hammer on a tree can also accomplish the same task but a woodpecker has keen sight, so you will have to dress up in a bird suit.

Is a reticulated python and burmese python the same?

No a reticulated python and a Burmese python are different snakes. Both are found close together in nature (S.E. Asia), though. The Burmese doesn't quite reach the length of a reticulated python; however a Burmese python is a much heavier snake like the Anaconda. The Burmese's weight and girth it typically bigger than a reticulated python; however the reticulated python is the longest documented snake in existence. Both are absolutely beautiful animals, though. The reticulated python tends to be more aggressive a snake than the Burmese, however. But with regular handling from a young age, both can become very "handle-able". By nature, however, the Burmese is generally a more docile animal, especially if handled from an early age.

Did Noah have woodpeckers on the ark?

Woodpeckers are not specifically mentioned. Whatever birds were on the ark would have had the genetic material from which our current woodpeckers developed via natural selection and may have had some of the same characteristics, but woodpeckers themselves as we know them need not have been on the ark. The Bible states that various numbers of each kind were taken on the ark, and kinds do not equate to our modern classification system. The answer is that it is not possible to precisely know, but it is certain that at least their ancestral kind of bird were.
