Paleontologists know nothing about the color of most dinosaurs, because skin tissue is rarely fossilized and when it is, it doesn't preserve color. Recently, however, scientists began analyzing the well preserved feathers of some dinosaurs. By looking at the melanosomes of a feather with a microscope, they have found the colors of a few feathered theropods, including Anchiornis and Confuciusornis.
