Every one Iv ever seen was 3/8-16. i am 59 years old and worked on Chevy's every since i could pick up a tool and that is the only bolt i have ever seen in a 350. starter
Disconnect the - battery cable Raise and support vehicle Remove wires at top of starter Remove starter mounting bolts Remove starter
undo the wires then take the bolts out then put the new one in.

Starter bolts on the 350 are probably the EASIEST to get to of just about any vehicle. The two starter bolts point STRAIGHT DOWN. Just put a wrench on them and turn. But make certain that you've disconnected one of the battery terminals first.

Sometimes. There are two common bolt patterns of Chevy starters, and two common flywheel diameters. Many blocks have both bolt patterns. If the starter bolts up to the block and engages the ring gear without binding, it fits.

There is one mounted on top of the starter.
It's bolted to the top of the starter.
It is in front of the starter on my van.1990 350
