No. They come from Mexico. The British never knew was a taco was until Taco Bell opened there. In the 1970's the the southern states here you couldn't find a taco either. Only from TX to the west coast could a taco be found.


Another answer: Taco's are Mexican in origin. The British were probably introduced to them while on holidays in Mexico. Taco Bell was not rresponsible for introducing them to Britain because Taco Bell has only two outlets in Britain and they are both on American Airforce bases where they are not available to the general British public.
