Personally, most high schoolers do not act mature, it depends on what kind of maturity it is that you are seeking.
If it is in a relationship then you should become friends with them before getting really close to find out if they are what you are looking for, if it doesn't work out then there are plenty of other people in the world.
If you are just talking about being mature with your own personality, you have to think about how you act, really thinking before you act shows maturity, but if you don't think you are a mature teenager then try to work on it by taking up a part-time job to help make yourself more responsible and mature.

Despite what many of them think - or would like others to believe, teenagers are not mature physically, mentally, or emotionally. Teens may be well on their way to physical maturity but not quite there yet. Guys can get girls pregnant and girls can get pregnant in their teens - but - most guys are no where near ready to support a child and teen pregnancies are mostly classified as HIGH-RISK because girls bodies have not finished maturing. If you compare the physiques of professional football players to what they looked like as high school students you will see remarkable changes evn though they may have looked impressively physically mature coming out of high school. Even if they have completed puberty there are still changes going on in nearly all teenagers bodies that are not complete until some time in their twenties. Myelination is still ongoing in healthy teens. Since brain development is still continuing, emotional development is also still ongoing.
