Is an IPod similar to an IPhone?

No, the Apple iPhone has all the features of the iPod Touch AND the cell phone feature, which is not on the Apple iPod Touch. Another difference is that the iPhone is thicker than the iPod Touch, but they both look pretty much the same. But they are both stupid. If i were you i wouldn't buy one. They cost too much. And after all they break easily.

Differences between them:

• iPhone combines Music and Videos into one App called iPod
• The iPhone has a camera (not very good quality)
• The iPhone has SMS and calling capabilities
• iPhones have GPS
• iPhones are thicker
• Only the iPhone AND 2nd Generation of iPod touch have build in speakers

The ipod touch lacks 3g service. It can however download a phhone that works over wireless and a texting app of choice. The iphone also has a camera built into it that can take average quality pictures.

****Technically no it isnt. mostly because some apps only work on iphones and stuff. but you can do almost the same things on an ipod touch as you can on an iphone if you get apps like text freen and theres an app that lets you make phone calls...not sure what its called but i think its called void or something.
They are both the same brand, but an iphone is not the same as an ipod, an ipod is a music player whereas an iphone is a cell phone.
