Best Answer

No. After the Northern Kingdom of 10 tribes of Israel were taken captive circa 722-718 BC, the Assyrians conquerors placed previously displaced peoples of the area around Mesopotamia into the northern land of Israel. Philistines are believed to have Grecian roots.

Where did Ancient Palestinians farm?

Ancient Palestinians are the philistines mentioned in the book of Genesis. They were invaders from the Greek Islands around 2000 BCE, were mainly merchant sailors and as related in the book of Genesis lived and farmed on the southern coastal plain of the land of Israel. There is no connection between Arabs who invented a link and called themselves Palestinians about 1964, and the ancient philistines.

Why do Palestinians think they should have the land of Palestine?

Because their descendants have lived in the area for 2000 years

Is there any god Palestine worship?

Do you mean to ask if there is a god that the Palestinians worship or that the Philistines (an ancient tribe) worshiped? Though there is a lack of good demographic data, it is estimated that around 95% of Palestinians are Muslim, which means they believe in Allah. The other 5% are Christian, which means they believe in Jesus and the god of the Old Testament. The Philistines, on the other hand, shared many gods with the Canaanite pantheon, including Baal, Astarte, and Dagon.

Who were the Palestinians in biblical times?

A:The ancestors of the Palestinians were Semitic people, just as the ancestors of the original Jews were. They would have included the Canaanites and Philistines who lived along the Levantine coast on the western side of Israel and Judah, as well as Greek and Roman immigrants over the centuries. But since conversions and intermarriages were not entirely uncommon, some of their ancestors were probably among the Israelites and Jews of the Levantine region, just as some Middle Eastern Jews might have Philistines in their ancestry.

Who are the modern descendants of the Philistines?

The Philistines were a sea people who arrived in the Levant around 1250 BCE and settled in the fertile coastal plains and foothills from the Egyptian border north to present-day Tel Aviv. Over time, they absorbed a wave of Nabatean immigrants and were then culturally absorbed by their Canaanite neighbours to the north. After the Alexandrian conquests, they absorbed the Greek language and culture, as did their neighbours, other than the Jews. Because of this, by New Testament times we find them sometimes see them referred to by the Jews as "Greeks", sometimes as gentiles. The former Philistines were pagans in the Roman Empire, but with the arrival of Christianity, became Christians. The Arabs overran Palestine in the seventh century CE, after which most became Muslims but a significant number remained Christians even to this day. Modern Palestinians are considered to be descended from various races in the region, including Philistines, Canaanites, Greeks, Romans, Nabataeans, Peninsular Arabs and others.

Who are the Palestinians in the current conflict?

"Palestinian" is usually used to refer to the Arab former inhabitants of the British Mandate of Palestine and their descendants regardless of whether they live in those borders or not. Jews, Bedouins, Circassians and Druze Arabs who live or whose ancestors lived in that territory are not considered Palestinians.

Did Israel conquer Palestine or did Palestine conquer Israel?

It is a difficult question to answer. If we review ancient history, Israel was there 5 thousand years go till about year 0. In early 20th century Israeli was mainly populated by tribes of Arab nations and Israeli settlers, and in 1948 the UN declared a two countries solution in Israel for the Jewish and the Palestinians. Therefore, Israel declared independence - followed up by war declaration from most of the Arab nations around Israel and the Arab tribes living in Israel - later be called Palestinians (by the name of the place - Palestine), Israel won the war while conquering a few areas in Israel. Another reference can be made to the name "Philistines" - which is an ancient word from the bible describing invader tribes from around Israel. Philistines in biblical Hebrew means invaders. Often times, the Palestinians are identified with the Philistines since the Roman Name "Palestine" was derived from the word "Philistine".

Aren't the palestinians the true israelites of the bible?

The Palestinians are descendants of Ishmael, (the son of Hagar & Abram). Being that God had promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations, God had to keep his covenant by blessing Abraham's seed (Ishmael) though he was not the son promised to Sarah & Abraham. So God promised he would bless Ishmael making him a great nation. (Gen 17: 25 & Gen 25: 12-18). His descendants are considered to be the Arabic People.
