The U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) are neither north or south of the British Virgin Islands (BVI). They are west of the BVI. There is overlap in terms of latitude, however, with most of the USVI island of St. John lying north of the BVI island of Norman Island.
The Virgin Islands are the northern islands of the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean. Following south - southeast of the Virgin Islands are, from north to south, Anguilla, St. Maarten, St. Barths, Saba, St. Kitts, Nevis, Antigua, Montserrat, Guadeloupe and Dominica. Further South are the Windward Islands.
