Simple answer: the original Beach Boys are not together.
Complicated answer: it depends on what you mean by "together."
The Beach Boys are not just a band, but they're a legal corporation, the "owners" of which are original Beach Boys Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Alan Jardine, and the estate of Carl Wilson.
Brian Wilson stopped touring with the Beach Boys to pursue a solo career in the mid 90s. That left Carl, Mike and Al as touring members along with Bruce Johnston (who joined the group in 1966).
Carl died in 1998, leaving Mike, Al and Bruce as touring members.
Al quit the band to pursue a solo career, and the four members of the "corporation" (including Al and Brian) granted Mike and Bruce the exclusive rights to use the name "the Beach Boys" on tour and records.
So, technically, the group that tours as "the Beach Boys" IS the Beach Boys, even though only one member of the original group (Mike) appears onstage with them.
