If something is falling at a steady speed will the forces be unbalanced or balanced?

Balanced

How do unbalanced forces differ from balanced forces?

An object with no force on it will either be at rest or moving with a steady velocity, an object with an unbalanced force, which is the same as saying it has a net force on it, will be accelerating (or decelerating)

Explain the term balanced force and unbalanced force?

balanced forces are when the two opposite forces are equal and cause no change to the object e.g a car at a steady speed. unbalanced forces would cause the car to increase or decrease in speed

Why are forces balanced when a car is travelling at a steady speed?

If the forces weren't balanced, then the car would be (de) accelerating, thus the forces must be balanced.

When forces are balanced what type of motion results?

This is called steady motion.

A glider sailing across the sky at a steady speed and altitude an example of and unbalanced force?

No. A glider that is moving at a constant speed and in a constant direction is at a constant velocity. In other words it is not accelerating. Therefore, all forces on it must be balanced.

Forces on steady speed on plane?

thrust, lift, drag and weight. these are all balanced forces as it is travelling at a constant speed.

When are the 4 forces of flight equal?

The plane will fly at steady height and speed :)

How does unbalanced forces affect both moving and non moving objects?

Unbalanced forces on an object are forces which actually cause its state of rest or steady motion to change. If an object is not accelerating then there are no unbalanced forces acting on it. For example, we have a block on a rough surface. The weight of the body pushes down on the surface and the surface pushes up on the block. These up and down forces are balanced and so the block does not rise up or break through the surface. If you push gently on the block, it doesn't slide because the friction balances out your pushing force. Only when you push harder than the friction force will it start sliding. When the friction cannot balance out your push, the forces are unbalances and the block starts accelerating along.

What if forced are not in balanced?

If the forces on an object are not balanced then it could do one of a number of things - 1. change speed (accelerate or decelerate) 2. change direction 3. change shape 4. spin if the forces on an object are balanced then it will stay in its original direction at a steady speed (this could be zero ie stationary)

What does piosed mean?

To be held balanced or steady in readiness.

What is the acceleration of a car that is going at a steady speed of 74 mph?

If something is traveling at a "steady" speed, it can't be accelerating.
